If you’ve ever experienced sleep paralysis, you know how terrifying it can be. You wake up from a deep sleep unable to move, no matter how hard you try. Not only that, but you sense a presence around you that does not feel particularly safe. Some people report hearing breathing sounds, tapping sounds and even footsteps. Some even have the sensation that they are being touched by something or someone. It is not uncommon for someone with sleep paralysis to feel as if something is bearing down upon their chest.
While some in the scientific community say that sleep paralysis is nothing more than a glitch in the way that your body goes through sleep transitions, many people who have experienced the fear that arises from sleep paralysis believe differently.
A sign of extraterrestrial intelligence?
There are many theories as to what causes sleep paralysis. One such theory is that it is a result of contact by extraterrestrials. We’ve all heard stories of aliens or beings landing a UFO and collecting humans to do experiments on them. Some people believe that sleep paralysis is what happens to us when we are being experimented on.
It’s sort of like anesthesia. If you’ve ever had the experience of waking up because you weren’t given enough anesthesia during a medical procedure, you know that you can wake up groggy and be out of control even though you are conscious. If extraterrestrials have used some type of energy numbing power to knock you out, so to speak, you could wake up midway through the procedure unable to move and sensing that you are not alone.
Some people experience sleep paralysis one time and it never happens again. Others experience it frequently, which for some, lends credence to the idea that extraterrestrials are behind it. After all, what if an extraterrestrial did a procedure on you and wanted to come back to check on your progress. Just as human researchers conduct testing and followup tests, it’s not out of the question to believe that extraterrestrial researchers could be looking for the same long-term results to their testing.
Some people who have experienced sleep paralysis have even gone so far as to describe the presence they felt as being out of this world. It didn’t feel human, which brings up thoughts of it being some type of spirit that has crossed over to the other side or an extraterrestrial.
If you experience sleep paralysis, try to remain calm. Most people who experience it find that they are eventually able to move their limbs and regain control of their actions. Some have also said that it helps to call out for their Spirit Guides or Guardian Angels to protect them.
