If you’re looking for evidence that past lives exist, you might need to look no further than your child.
Many believe that children’s past life memories are among the most convincing because, given the level and intricacy of aspects remembered it would be almost impossible to fake this information by coaching.
Reports of past life memories in children are common occurrences. A number of books such as Return to Life: Extraordinary Cases of Children Who Remember Past Lives and Children’s Past Lives: How Past Life Memories Affect Your Child provide detailed examples.
It can be difficult for some parents to distinguish between genuine past life memories and fantasy. However, knowing what signs and behaviors to look for can be helpful. Below are some common signs that your child may be picking up on a past life.
Vivid, recurring dreams or nightmares. Dreams are reflections of the unconscious mind and everyone has had a nightmare from time to time. Recurring dreams and nightmares in children have been suggested as being memories or at least clues of past lives. They may sometimes signify trauma, fear or issues that the brain is trying to process. However, recurring nightmares and dreams can also potentially be reflections of past life experiences that were painful or traumatic, such as how the person died in that particular lifetime.
Memories of another mother. Unexplained memories such as a sight, a sound, a smell, a taste, or a touch that transports the child back to a place or causes the child to remember a person outside of his or her life’s experience could be a sign of past life memories. For example, there are cases where children spoke of another ‘mother’ who had no connection to the current family.
A desire to be called by a different name. Sometimes children like to make things up when they’re playing make-believe. But the yearning to be called by a different name can also be seen as a reflection of the child’s memories of a past life when that was his or her name.
Learning about your past lives or a child’s past life can help you and your child to understand issues that you may have brought over into this lifetime. One of the pre-emininent voices in past life research is Brian Weiss, a psychiatrist who has written about his findings when conducing past life regressions. In the audio download Mirrors of Time: Experience Your Past Lives, Weiss shares how you can use past life regression to overcome your own emotional and physical struggles.
