Do you feel like others don’t get you? Are you having trouble connecting to people? Do you wonder why you haven’t met someone special who truly understands your needs? Well, maybe the world doesn’t get you. Or maybe your throat chakra is blocked and you are not sharing your authentic self.
Are you afraid to speak your truth? The throat chakra, or fifth chakra, is related to assertiveness where we can express ourselves in different levels and talk about our desires and needs in life. If you have a blocked throat chakra, you might notice the following signs:
–You hold back on sharing your true needs with others.
–You are afraid to ask for help. After all, this may show weakness.
–You are afraid to tell people about your dreams for the future.
–You are afraid to tell people ‘no,’ and you stay silent when others cross your boundaries.
–You are afraid to ask for a raise.
–You have a fear of public speaking.
–You stifle your creativity by not following through on that book or creative project that you dream about.
–You are living a lie, as you are afraid to speak your truth.
If throat chakra issues are not addressed, they not only affect you emotionally and spiritually, but they often lead to physical challenges as well, such as sore throats, hoarseness, thyroid problems, dental issues and neck pain. (So that root canal may your body’s way of warning you to speak your truth!)
So how do you get out of the throat chakra rut? Find ways to break out of your self-limitations and share who you are. Here are some ways that you can do that.
Reach out to your loved ones. Make communication a priority for a couple of weeks and let your loved ones know what’s going on in your life. In other words, share.
Provide more intimate details. No one has to know ALL of your business. In fact, I recommend keeping some things to yourself. But make a goal of sharing one detail more than you normally would with everyone you speak with for the next week. When you show more of your authentic self, it becomes easier and easier to stop hiding.
Take a public speaking class. Join Toastmasters. If you really want to give your throat chakra a workout, confront those fears you have of speaking in public.
Attend more networking events. Go into a networking event with the goal of finding out something interesting about each person you meet, and sharing one detail about yourself in the process.
Journal. Many writers (myself included) have had throat chakra issues show up because they were not doing the writing that was in alignment with their souls.
Turn to crystal healing. Crystals are powerful for healing. If you want to balance your throat chakra, the crystals Amazonite, Turquoise and Aquamarine can all be helpful. Consider meditating with them and set the intention of speaking your truth.
Wear the color blue. The throat chakra is associated with the color blue. By wearing blue and setting the intention to bring healing to your fifth chakra, you get a visual reminder of your healing work throughout your day.
