Many couples have a telepathic connection. They may finish each others’ thoughts. Maybe one knows when the other person is thinking about them. One may know when the other is in danger. Or perhaps they even have long telepathic conversations with one another. This can be romantic when the relationship is strong. But what happens when you break up? Does the telepathic connection stay in tact?
In many cases, a telepathic connection between a couple will stay in force even after the breakup. You may be unable to stop thinking about the person when in fact your thoughts are still tuned into the thoughts of your ex. Sometimes a couple who has broken up may dream about one another. This, too, can be a sign of the lingering telepathic connection.

The good news is that you don’t have to be. We have the power to allow someone to connect with us telepathically and we have the power to close that connection. When we are conscious of our thoughts, we can consciously keep the thoughts of others out.
Can a telepathic connection with your ex be harmful?
A telepathic connection with an ex may not be in your best interest. Why? Because it can keep you from moving on. Often, people pine for an ex for months or even years. They may try certain tactics such as the law of attraction to try to get their ex back. Sometimes it works and people get back together with their ex. However, a breakup could also be a blessing in that it can open the door to a better relationship.
But if you’re still sending telepathic messages to an ex, many of your thoughts will likely be about that relationship. That could keep you from starting a healthy relationship with someone new.
If you’re not over your ex, a telepathic connection with him or her can also keep you in pain. When you send or receive thoughts, you could be reminded on a continual basis that your relationship did not work out.
How to end a telepathic connection with your ex
So you decide you want to truly end the relationship. How can you shut off the telepathic connection with your ex?
Stop being receptive. Intention is powerful. Set the intention that you intend to end the link and make sure you mean it. If a part of you is hoping the telepathic connection will lead to a reunion with your ex, your intention to shut down the link may not work.
Use visualization. Your imagination can create worlds and it can end worlds. If you want to shut the telepathic door between you and your ex, visualize a door between yourself and this person, and see yourself literally shutting and locking the door.
You might also want to visualize a bubble surrounding you and set the intention that any thoughts from your ex bounce off the bubble and return to him or her.
Imagine everyone being happy. It’s always a good idea to wish everyone the best. You don’t want to visualize your ex being upset. Instead, imagine your ex smiling on the other side of the door without you. You want this person to be happy, and you want to be happy. You just want to be happy as you go your separate ways.
