We all have those moments when we have no idea what choice to make. Should I leave or should I go? Should I take this job offer or should I stay at my current gig? Then there are the moments when you want some insight into a current situation. Is my child doing ok emotionally? Will the political climate change in the next year? One way to tap into your inner knowing is to turn to the crystal Amethyst.
Amethyst is one of my favorite crystals and it has a very strong effect on me. I once tried putting Amethyst underneath my pillow while I slept and my dreams were so vivid that they kept waking me up. I settled for placing it on the nightstand next to me. I wanted to be touched by its energy, but I also wanted to get a good night’s sleep.
Amethyst has an extremely high vibration and it will help you to connect to your higher self and spiritual energies. If you’re into using crystals for chakra work, Amethyst does an incredible job of opening up your crown chakra, again facilitating your communion with the divine.
According to The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall:
“Amethyst is one of the most spiritual stones, promoting love of the divine, giving insights into its true nature, and encouraging selflessness and spiritual wisdom. It opens intuition and enhances psychic gifts.”
Making the most of Amethyst’s psychic properties
So how can we use Amethyst to find the psychic answers that we seek? I use Amethyst in a number of ways.
One way is to simply hold a small piece of Amethyst in my hand while asking my intuition about something I’m wondering about.
For example, when I was contemplating making a major career turn, I sat and held my Amethyst in my hand. I took a deep breath and asked myself if I should make the career change. There were risks involved and I was unclear as to whether this would be a good move for me. I kept going back and forth in my mind, and confusion clearly ruled the day.
Yet, once I held the Amethyst in my hand and asked myself the question, I felt a calmness come over me. I visualized myself acting in this new role and I saw myself clearly happy and financially successful. I took that vision to be my higher self’s approval that this was a good move.
Another way that I use Amethyst is to meditate with it. Sometimes when I’m having a difficult time tuning out the distractions in my mind, I’ll find myself better able to meditate when the Amethyst is nearby.
When I sleep with Amethyst near my bedside, the idea is to stimulate intuitive dreams. I get some of my best psychic insights when I’m sleeping so having the Amethyst nearby gives that goal a boost.
If I’m going to a potential business meeting or maybe going on a first date, I might carry Amethyst with me in order to promote clarity so that I can be very intuitive as far as my first impressions are concerned.
