We’ve all been through traumatic experiences. But sometimes a traumatic experience causes so much damage that a part of our soul literally breaks away to protect itself. When this happens, you’ve experienced soul loss. In order to become whole and healthy again, you may need to undergo a soul retrieval.
Soul loss is a debilitating condition, but it occurs because the your mind and psyche are trying to protect you. Typically soul loss occurs after traumatic events such as the death of a loved one, an incidence of sexual abuse or a natural disaster. Because the event is so painful, a part of the soul literally breaks off and flees so that it does not have to experience the hurt. The problem is, in most cases the part of the soul that has broken off does not come back without a conscious attempt to retrieve it.
What are the signs of soul loss
There are a number of signs that you may be experiencing soul loss. You may feel chronically depressed, or as if you are not fully alive and in enjoyment of life. You may experience post traumatic stress syndrome or grief that does not go away. Many people who are experiencing soul loss become addicted to different things such as drugs, alcohol, food and even relationships. When we experience soul loss, an emptiness usually occurs, and often we seek to fill that emptiness with something, which can therefore lead to addiction. In extreme cases, soul loss can even lead to suicide, as people feel a never-ending depression and even a sense of helplessness.
Soul loss can also lead to physical illness. If a part of your soul or life force has left your body, you’ll be in a weakened state and your vitality will soon follow. Many Shamans believe that all illness results from soul loss.
Who can help with soul loss
If you think you’re experiencing symptoms of soul loss, you may want to consult with a Shaman. Shamanic practitioners regularly practice soul retrieval, in which they connect with the Spirit world and help the missing fragments of your soul to reconnect with your true essence. The Shaman will use his or her Spiritual connections to locate the lost parts of your soul and convince them to return to you. A Shaman will also typically work with you to reintegrate the recovered parts of your soul back into your life.
In some Shamanic cultures, Shamans would conduct a soul retrieval days after one experienced a physical or emotional trauma. Once the fragments are reunited with the rest of your soul, you’ll begin to heal and you’ll likely notice positive changes in your life.
