Past life memories can be exciting to explore — except when they are painful or scary or simply not pleasant. If you’ve ever had a nightmare that felt familiar or had a nagging, unsettling feeling of deja-vu, you know what I’m talking about.
A friend once described recalling a past life memory in which she died a death by fire. Another friend had a past life memory of being tortured for her spiritual beliefs. Neither of these memories bring about a warm and fuzzy feeling, do they?
What past life memories are trying to tell you
Past life memories do not happen randomly. In our Universe of synchronicity, nothing is random. When past life memories come at you out of the blue, you can bet they are trying to get your attention. They have a very important message for you about your life today.
When you think about the concept of past lives, it really is amazing that you would remember one detail out of millions of details that have made up your soul’s evolutionary journey. Why would you be remembering a life that took place 150 years ago in London? Or why would you remember that you were claustrophobic in a certain lifetime? After all, it’s unlikely that you would be claustrophobic in most of your lifetimes.
The answer lies in your current life. There is something going on in your current life that is mirroring that past life back to you. If the past life if conjuring up thoughts in you that are not pleasant, then there is something unpleasant that needs to be addressed in the here and now.
Contrary to what some people believe, we are not doomed to repeat past life mistakes. Every life is about amassing knowledge and wisdom. Our higher self is able to tap into all of the lessons that we’ve absorbed through lifetime after lifetime. And we are able to tap into our higher selves and through that connection we can gain insight through past life memories.
So if a past life memory is bubbling to the surface, it’s there to tell you something about your current life.
- For example, if you remember a past life in which you felt unsafe, ask yourself, what in my current life is making me feel unsafe?
- If you remember a past life in which you were fascinated by healing, perhaps you are being urged to explore how healing can enhance your current life.
- If you remember a past life relationship or how someone treated you in a past life, ask yourself which of your current relationships is mirroring that situation.
In the world of energy and vibration, like attracts like. You would not be able to attract memories of a past life unless those memories held the same vibration as some of your current thoughts and experiences.
Past life memories provide a wealth of knowledge that can enhance our current lives if we allow them to. Instead of blowing off those memories, ask yourself what wisdom you can apply to your current life to create a better tomorrow.
