One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned from psychic mediums is that death is not a barrier keeping us from communicating with our loved ones. Instead, many of us have had experiences where our loved ones reached out to us from the other side. More than half of American adults believe they’ve interacted with a dead relative in some manner, according to the Pew Research Center. Here are some common after death communication symbols that have helped people keep the lines of communication open.
Dreams. This is probably one of the most common ways people communicate with their loved ones on the other side and one I’ve experienced myself. I’ve dreamt of conversations with my dad, my grandmother, and multiple aunts. All of these experiences have been different from other dreams in that I always felt this intense feeling of love and peace when I woke up. At times when I’ve had these dreams, I was going through challenging times and the dreams were reassuring. They made me feel loved and gave me hope that everything would turn out fine.
Messages from other people. Sometimes someone will say something and you’ll just know it’s a message from your loved one. Maybe someone will say a phrase that your loved one used to say. Or they will simply remind you of your loved one with a gesture they make. If you pay attention to these experiences you may find that they take place at turning points in your life when you can most benefit from the message.
Animals. The day of my father’s funeral, I noticed a swarm of dragonflies in the cemetery. Since then, I’ve associated dragonflies with my father’s presence and amazingly I often see dragonflies on special days such as father’s day and my birthday. Other animals that I’ve heard people describe as being messengers from deceased loved ones include butterflies, deer and rabbits.
Smells. If a deceased loved one had a distinctive scent such as a certain perfume or cologne or even cigarette smoke, don’t be surprised if a visit from them is accompanied by that fragrance. I’ve seen many people describe getting a whiff of a loved one’s favorite lotion during moments when they felt the loved one’s presence.
Angel numbers. Some people believe their loved ones are communicating with them when they see repeating numbers such as 111 or 222. You might wake up in the middle of the night only to see the clock reflect the same angel number that you woke up to the night before.
If you do notice any of these after death communication symbols, pay attention to your feelings. You might feel comforted, or if you were thinking about a recent decision, your loved one could be chiming in with their approval. Taking a few minutes to go within through meditation and asking what message your loved one has for you can also give you insights into the experience. At the very least, such an experience should reassure you that death doesn’t separate us from our loved ones; it only changes the way we interact.
