Anyone who knows me knows you’re likely to see me wearing crystal jewelry of some sort. If you know crystals and their underlying properties you might even get a clue into what’s going on in my life at a given time based on the crystals I’m wearing around my wrists, fingers and neck.
But earlier this year, I bought my first serious crystal. By serious, I meant it was large enough in size where I paid more than $100 for it.
It was a beautiful piece of citrine. It looked like this:
I was at a holistic fair called Pathways perusing the crystals when the citrine jumped out at me. So here’s what was going on in my life. It was March, and the year had gotten off to a rocky start. I’d ended a relationship in January and my business had suddenly started going south. Several clients had moved in different directions, meaning they either no longer needed my services or they didn’t need as much of my services. I made the smallest amount in February that I’d made since I’d become self-employed 15 years ago. I knew I needed a major boost. I was nowhere ready to focus on the love thing at the time, but I was ready to turn the financial downturn around.
Citrine: The money crystal
And then I saw that citrine. If you don’t know anything about citrine, here’s a little background from The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall.
Judy writes:
Citrine is one of the stones of abundance. This dynamic stone teaches how to manifest and attracts wealth and prosperity, success, and all good things. Citrine is a happy generous stone and encourages sharing what you have and yet helps you to hold on to your wealth.
I knew that citrine was an abundance crystal. I picked up the crystal, turned it over and saw the price, and I immediately put it down. What was I thinking? Remember, my business was in a slump and I wasn’t exactly swimming in cash. Did I really want to spend my money on this crystal, which I clearly did not need.
But after I put the crystal down, my eyes kept being drawn to it. It was as if the crystal was a magnet and it was pulling me in. I knew that this crystal wanted to work with me. And when a crystal wants to work with you, it’s in your best interest to let it do its thing.
How my life changed after buying the citrine
So was the citrine worth it?
First, let me tell you what I did with it. After I cleansed and charged the crystal I placed the citrine in the wealth corner of my house. If you know anything about Feng Shui, your wealth corner is the farthest left corner from the entrance of a home.
Since the end of March when that happened:
- I’ve picked up five new clients, four of which came to me from word of mouth
- Another client dramatically increased the amount of work they wanted me to do
- The new clients all pay more than the older clients that I lost
- I’ve received money that was owed to me
- My finances have not only rebounded from the slump at the beginning of the year, but they’re on track to exceed previous years
- My creativity is enhanced and I have several ideas about how to make even more money in a way that’s more in alignment with how I like to work
In five months, I’d say that’s a pretty good turnaround and I can honestly say I haven’t gone out searching for new clients and sources of money. They’ve come to me. Sure, I’ve done regular marketing, but I didn’t panic or take on that searching energy; I just waited for the citrine to do its thing.
So what about you? Could you use a little wealth or abundance in your life? Maybe you’re ready to see what citrine can do for you. More than six months post break-up, now I’m ready to invest in a large piece of rose quartz.
