You don’t have to be a news junkie to realize that the world is undergoing massive change. And astrologically, those changes are likely to be amplified even more now that we’ve entered Eclipse Season 2020.
June 5, 2020 kicks off three different eclipses, and if you have an understanding, or at least a respect, for moon magic, you know that eclipses can usher in disruption and massive change (for the better when looked at over the long run).
There are two types of eclipses:
Solar eclipses occur during New Moons.
During this time, the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out the sun from view. New Moon energy is amplified during a solar eclipse. So if you use the New Moon for manifesting, consider this an even more powerful time than usual to manifest changes in your world.
Lunar eclipses occur during Full Moons.
During this time the Earth is situated between the Sun and the Moon. Full Moon energy is amplified during a lunar eclipse, so if you are using Full Moon energy for powerful release, consider a lunar eclipse as having ten times the firepower attached to those intentions.
On June 5, 2020 we usher in the season with a lunar eclipse. That will be followed by a solar eclipse on June 21, 2020 and another lunar eclipse on July 5, 2020.
Common occurrences during eclipses
While we can use eclipse energy to fuel our personal intentions by doing rituals (which I highly recommend), eclipses are also known to bring about events that are not totally under our control. In fact, eclipse seasons are notorious for events that change the directions of our lives. Yeah that might sound a little scary, but consider eclipses a jump-off point. And they are known to usher in events that were bound to happen eventually anyway.
- For example, you’ve always toyed with the idea of starting a lightworker business but you haven’t had the courage to move forward on your goals? Well, eclipse season might cause you to lose your job so you’re forced to put your career goals front and center in your life.
- Or maybe you’ve been coasting along in a dead-end relationship because you are comfortable and don’t feel like going through the dating process. Well, eclipse season might just cause a blowup that ends the relationship so you can move forward toward the person who is truly meant for you. (And we are experiencing a Venus Retrograde season right now to boot so your relationships may indeed experience some strain!)
Also, understand that tensions can be heightened during eclipse season so watch your impulses and understand that those around you may be quick-tempered and impulsive, as well.
Understanding your personal eclipse stories
So here is the fun part about eclipses. They tell a story and they highlight particular themes in your life. Eclipses come in series, meaning there will be several eclipses that occur in the same two Zodiac signs. In the last couple of years, eclipses have occurred in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. The Cancer-Capricorn eclipse series started in July 2018 and the last eclipse in that series occurs July 5 (in Capricorn).
To understand what this eclipse series has meant in your life, you would have to think back to what was going on in your world in July 2018.
Think about what changes have occurred in your life since then, and see if you can identify any patterns. The changes ushered in by this eclipse series will be winding down as this eclipse series ends.
But now is the perfect time to note a new eclipse series in your life. The June 5, 2020 eclipse is the first of a series of eclipses in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius. It coincides with the Full Moon in Sagittarius.
This eclipse series will be going on until the end of 2021. The June 21, 2020 and July 5, 2020 eclipses dip back into the Cancer-Capricorn cycle, but then eclipses will be back in Gemini and Sagittarius November 30, 2020; December 14, 2020; May 26, 2021; June 10, 2021 and December 4, 2021.
The starting point of the 2020 Eclipse Season
So where are you now at the start of the 2020 Eclipse Season and the Gemini-Sagittarius Eclipse Series? What do you want in your life? What are you unhappy with?
Now is a good time to write down where you are and where you hope to go. Note what happens during the days around this eclipse. What issues come up for you? What is top of mind? Does anything end? Does anything begin? Do you want to reverse course and change directions in any aspects of your life?
And you can’t help but look at where the world is at the starting point of the Gemini-Sagittarius Eclipse Series. Not only is the world learning the consequences of ignoring science and climate change, but systematic racism is being brought to light and threatened like it’s never been threatened before.
Maybe this will be the eclipse series that roots systemic racism out forever.
