Whenever a planet is in retrograde, the issues that the planet rules over often appear to be in disarray. This time, Mercury will be in retrograde from September 17, 2015 until October 9, 2015.
Mercury is the planet that rules over communication and business matters, so you guessed it, those are the areas that may be a bit challenging over the next three weeks.
Since Mercury oversees communication, it can impact everything from conversations to emails to Facebook posts. You might read something into a text that isn’t really there, or someone may misinterpret what you meant by your latest Tweet. Be very mindful about anything you say, and also don’t be quick to jump to conclusions about what someone else might say.
This isn’t the best time to sign a contract or begin a new business arrangement. You may enter into an agreement only to find that it falls through at the last minute. Or you may find that you entered into the agreement without getting all of the facts that you needed to make a smart decision.
If you can put off making major decisions, it might be a good idea to do so. While you may want to get started on new plans, three weeks could make a big difference in the outcome.
Other areas that might be impacted by Mercury Retrograde include travel (you may want to give yourself extra time) and technology (don’t be surprised if your computer acts up). Some people warn against making a major purchase such as a car at this time. Obviously, if you must do so, you must do so. But if you’re just thinking about such a purchase, try to hold off if you can.
If you’re expecting money from someone, this may also be delayed, unfortunately. For freelancers and those who depend on irregular checks for their income, this can be an arduous time. Hopefully you have some extra cash saved up.
The impact of Mercury Retrograde varies based on which Zodiac sign the planet is in at the time. In this instance, Mercury is in Libra. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, when Mercury Retrograde occurs in Libra, “Accept your physical attributes; do not have a makeover. Indecision reigns so limit purchases or risk returning them. Libra, representing beauty, grace, charm, and diplomacy is out of balance. Refresh, relax and rejuvenate.”
While it’s human nature to dread Mercury Retrograde, it’s here for the next three weeks, so you might as well sit back and embrace it.
