Sometimes the Tarot Card answer you need is a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ Here’s how to ensure Tarot gets to the point.
Sometimes we don’t want a lot of insight or messages offering perspective and a dosage of hope. Instead we just may want to hear a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer to a question that is top of mind.
- Should I take this job?
- Am I going to meet someone in the next six months?
- Is now a good time to quit my job and start doing my side hustle full time?
In those situations, we’re not looking for the bigger picture or some hidden context. We simply want to know if we should take an immediate next step.
I recently came across the perfect Tarot spread to get a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. The idea from the spread came from the book The Modern Witchcraft Book of Tarot and it is found in the back of the book where author Skye Alexander lists a number of different spreads that may be fun to try.
You can also create your own spreads.
Getting a definitive answer from Tarot Cards
The ‘yes’ or ‘no’ exercise goes like this:
Take your favorite deck of Tarot cards or the one you feel most drawn to at the particular moment. (If you have multiple decks, the deck you feel drawn to at any given moment is part of the message itself.)
Shuffle the deck as you normally would, and while shuffling, think about your question. Make sure it’s a question phrased in such a way that there is a clear ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.
Once you finish shuffling, you are going to make 3 piles of cards.
Start counting out 13 cards face up (meaning you can see the actual cards). If an Ace comes up before you get to the 13th card, stop adding to that pile and start counting out 13 cards on pile number 2. Again, if an Ace comes up, stop adding to that pile and start counting out 13 cards on pile number 3. If an Ace comes up before you get to the 13th card, stop.
Now look at the cards that are on the top of each pile. If you have 2 or 3 Aces, the answer to your question is ‘yes.’ If there are 3 Aces it’s an empathic yes.
However, if you have no Aces, the answer is ‘no.’ If you have 1 Ace, the answer is most likely ‘no,’ or at least no for the immediate time being.
If one or more of the Aces is reversed, it could mean there are other obstacles you may encounter in the endeavor.
Also, note the cards that are on the top of each deck even if they aren’t aces, as they can provide more context or insight into the situation.
If you’re wondering if you should take a particular action or not, try this exercise a way to tap your psychic abilities.
