Some believe Donald Trump may be the antichrist.
Whenever a major world event occurs, those who love predictions are often quick to pull out the Nostradamus books. The famed French psychic is believed to have predicted such occurrences as the two World Wars, the rise of Hitler and the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. One of the subjects Nostradamus talked about at length that gets a lot of attention is his description of the third Antichrist, a figure who he said would mesmerize people but then wreak havoc across the world. If you peruse some of the online forums dedicated to all things Nostradamus, you’ll find that there are a good number of people sharing their belief that Donald Trump could be that person.
There are a number of passages that would raise the eyebrows even of the most cynical readers. Consider the use of the word ‘trumpet’ in the following passages. Buzzfeed points out that the old word for ‘trumpet’ is actually trump. (Also, note that the words in ‘bold’ were put in bold by me to draw your attention to them.)
The false trumpet concealing madness.
Will cause Byzantium to change its laws.
From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants
the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.The trumpet shakes with great discord.
An agreement broken: lifting the face to heaven:
The bloody mouth will swim with blood
The face anointed with milk and honey lies on the ground.The great Senate with ordain the triumph.
For one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out:
At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be
Put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled.The republic of the great city
Will not want to consent to the great severity:
King summoned by trumpet to go out,
The ladder at the wall, the city will repent.
In addition to noting the references to trumpet, take a look at the last line above: “the ladder at the wall, the city will repent.” Some believe that Nostradamus was referring to Trump’s promises to build a wall that separates the United States from Mexico.
There is another interesting quatrain:
Father Duke old in years and choked by thirst,
On his last day his don denying him the jug:
Into the well plunged alive he will come up dead,
Senate to the thread death long and light.
Some have suggested that Father Duke refers to former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke, and the word ‘don’ refers to Donald Trump. While David Duke has said he is inspired by Donald Trump and the fact that Donald Trump shares his way of thinking, Trump has tried to distance himself, as this quatrain suggests. Now David Duke has announced that he’s running for the U.S. Senate to protect the rights of white people. He says he’s seen the success Donald Trump has had sowing a message of division so why not try to emulate it?
